Beginner Quilt Block Workshop
Saturday, March 7th
10 AM to 12 PM
Taught by Terina Sciarrotta
In this friendly introduction to quilting, we’ll learn the basics of quilt block construction by making a simple 16-patch checker-style “mini quilt” that will be sewn on as a pocket for a tote bag. The focus is on getting acquainted with the sewing machine, experimenting, and enjoying the process.
No sewing or quilting experience is required. If you’ve never touched a sewing machine before, you’re welcome here. If you are familiar with a sewing machine but want an introduction to quilt concepts, this workshop is also a great fit!
Sewing machines are not required—we’ll be sharing 1–3 machines and working collaboratively, so beginners can learn by watching and doing. Students will leave with a finished or nearly finished tote bag and a solid foundation in quilting basics. Materials and tools provided but if you have fabric you want to use, or a machine or tools you want help understanding, feel free to bring that too!
Tickets are $60.
